Alumni Accolades: October 2019

SLIS alum Matt Hayward (‘16) published his article on the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) in Issues in Science and Technology Librarianship. Matt currently works as the STEM Librarian at the University of Texas at San Antonio. You can find the article here.

SLIS alum Mike Selby (’13) recently published a book, Freedom Libraries: The Untold Story of Libraries for African-Americans in the South, which documents the grassroots effort to provide libraries for African Americans during the Civil Rights Movement. Learn more about the book here.

SLIS alum Tonya Aumack (’18) was featured in a Library Journal article about next generation librarianship this month. She presently oversees four makerspace labs as the learning labs supervisor for the Gwinnet County Public Library of Georgia and has plans for six more labs. Check out the article here.
